The core of Mary Poppins’ [original] story lies in its ‘hybrids’. The world-most-renowned Nanny tells the story of the connection between the old-and-classic British traditions and a fresh new hybrid (a refreshing breeze or ‘East Wind’ as the first chapter named) that puts a different way of looking at the world into the specific family’s home that the story is about. This experimental project aims to enrich the original text and consists of: a book combining the original text, with the three films made as an adaptation to P. L. Travers’ creation; social networks (including Vimeo via the QR codes inside the book’s pages); a same-design-as-the-interactive printed book; as well as a new approach to hubrid publishing.
